Our Alliances And Networks
'Friends of Himalaya' is itself an alliance of people from different walks of life. It consists of academicians, students, NGOs, unions, researchers and Community Based Organizations (CBO) working in the Himalayan region.
We have signed a memorandum of understand (MOU) with SGRR University, Dehradun. We have jointly implemented a training program for geriatric care with the Nursing Department of the University.
'Friends of Himalaya' successfully pulled more than 100 community based organizations in one platform to discuss the rights of the communities on forests. Leaders from all walks of life and of all ideological hues participated in this campaign designed and executed by us.
We are also working jointly with DHAD ( Drive for Himalayan Anthropological Development) in advocating certain issues and helping children.
We also have collaboration with various educational institutes offering Masters in Social Work program. We provide paid and unpaid internship in our projects to the students of masters in social work.
We also played a key role in the formation of 'Child Rights Watch Group' - an amalgam of 45 non-governmental organizations, Basti Samitis, Community Based Organizations, Unions and individuals working in the NCR region.
We are also working with www.yuvauttarkhand.com, a leading online media portal in Uttarakhand, for spread awareness about community led initiatives.
